The Next Meeting
Willie Gilmore is a new forecaster at the National Weather Service (NWS) in North Little Rock. He started his NWS career in San Angelo, TX. His experience there is a topic of our next meeting..."Providing Incident Support to West Central Texas EMS During a Rapidly Developing Severe Weather Event".

 

WSR-88D (Doppler Weather Radar) Storm Relative Velocity Map (SRM) images indicated strong rotation moving through Mena (Polk County) between 800 pm and 812 pm CDT on 04/09/2009.
Willie will also take a close look at the Mena, Arkansas tornado (rated EF3) of April 9, 2009.

 

His presentation is set for Tuesday, May 5, 2009 at the local NWS facility. The time is 7:15 pm. If there is severe weather, the alternate date is Wednesday, May 6th (same time).
