  • The 2008 - 2009 AMS season has begun!

  • Over the summer, Vice President Lisa Kriederman left us for Boulder, Colorado. We wish her luck and thank her for all her hard work!
  • Louise Fode has volunteered to take over the Vice President position for the '08-'09 season. The new Executive Pane for this year is:

  • Meetings from our May meeting are updated, and the 2008 Science Fair winners have been posted.

The Anchorage Chapter of the American Meteorology Society was originally founded in 1941. The chapter's mission is the development and dissemination of the knowledge of atmospheric and related oceanic and hydrologic sciences and the advancement of their professional applications. Additionally, our chapter provides the community with a social and scientific point of contact from meteorological, hydrological, and other related scientific interests. Chapter activities include monthly meetings with various speakers on weather related topics, field trips, science fair support, forecasting contests and social gatherings.
