Message Subject: AMS Career Fair - A Recruiting Opportunity

Is recruiting new employees, especially for entry-level positions, a challenge for your organization? Are you looking for an opportunity to meet with students to tell them about your university's graduate program? Would you like to interface with students and recent graduates to tell them about your organization, what it does, and what it looks for in terms of new employees or graduate students? If so, don't miss out on your chance to participate in the 88th AMS Annual Meeting Career Fair, 20-24 January 2008.

The Career Fair of the 88th AMS Annual Meeting in New Orleans, Louisiana is designed so that companies and other organizations may interface with professionals, recent graduates, and students who might be candidates for future employment or graduate study. The Career Fair starts on Saturday, 19 January with an opening night reception for attendees of the 7th Annual AMS Student Conference. This is a great chance for you to learn more about your future employees and graduate students. Attendance at last year's opening night reception was nearly 400 students and recent graduates of meteorology and atmospheric science programs! The fair resumes on Sunday afternoon and continues through Thursday. Whether you stay for the entire event or for just one day, we encourage you to take advantage of this special opportunity to promote your organization and to advertise job and graduate study opportunities to the attendees of the Annual Meeting.

Even if your organization is not attending the Annual Meeting, it is still possible to participate in the Career Fair. Create a poster describing your organization and career and graduate study opportunities and we'll display it during the fair. Highlight entry-level positions or the position that you find hardest to fill. Boast about your university and its graduate program. You decide what you want your poster to say. This is a fantastic way to advertise your organization even if it isn't possible for you to attend the event.

The deadline for reserving table or poster space is December 3, 2007. Space may be reserved by completing a reservation form at http://www.ametsoc.org/meet/annual/reservationform.pdf and returning it by email to bfarley@ametsoc.org or by fax to (617) 742-8718.

Please visit our Web site at http://www.ametsoc.org/meet/annual/careerfair.html for additional information on Career Fair and other Annual Meeting activities.
