It has provided weather data and products, and custom programming solutions for businesses, government agencies, and the general public since it began operations in Salt Lake City, Utah, in 1972. Today, WeatherBank's in-house staff of meteorologists, computer programmers, graphic artists, and other professionals produce a unique line of weather products and services from numerous and redundant raw data sources, including all domestic and foreign government agencies and many private data vendors. WeatherBank generates an exhaustive database of nearly 40,000 weather and environmental products that is of benefit to professionals working in all sectors of the economy, as well as individual weather enthusiasts. The company also maintains a historical weather database that covers the full period of record with both hourly and daily information.
