With the Lewis-Burke since 2004, her public policy expertise extends across a broad range of issues, including ocean, atmospheric and climate policy and research at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and the National Science Foundation; social policy in the areas of social science, service and education at NSF and throughout the Department of Health and Human Services; and biomedical research, particularly at the National Institutes of Health. Ms. Naus engages with Congress and federal research agencies as they relate to these areas and is responsible for advocacy and strategic positioning on behalf of Lewis-Burke clients. She uses her understanding of the federal process and strategic thinking to advance the policy goals of clients. Since joining the Lewis-Burke Associates, Ms. Naus has shepherded legislation through the congressional process that has had a direct positive impact on Lewis-Burke clients and the research they conduct, including the reauthorization of a major research program at NOAA. She works closely with clients in the development and implementation of their public policy agendas and helps them assess their strengths and align their priorities with the relevant federal program. Prior to joining Lewis-Burke, Ms. Naus worked for the Buffalo News Washington Bureau, where she began her career in government relations. She has a B.A. degree with honors in both political science and urban studies from Canisius College in Buffalo, New York. She is a member of the Pi Sigma Alpha National Political Science Honor Society.
