Mike Jamilkowski, an AMS Member, is the Joint Polar Satellite System Common Ground System Customer Liaison for Raytheon Intelligence and Information Systems in Greenbelt, Maryland. From 2002 to 2010 he was Raytheon's East Coast Site Manager for the National Polar-orbiting Environmental Satellite System Integrated Program Office in Silver Spring, Maryland. There he was responsible for the Raytheon customer interface with the NPOESS IPO and with the office of the Program Executive Officer for Environmental Monitoring, providing liaison between the NPOESS IPO and the Raytheon NPOESS Ground Segments Program Manager in Aurora CO, and as the Raytheon lead on the NPOESS External Affairs Team. Prior to joining Raytheon in 2002, Mr. Jamilkowski completed a 33-year career in the United States Air Force (USAF) as weather officer and a space operations officer, retiring in the rank of Colonel. His distinguished military career involved over 30 years of proven leadership and senior management success in operational, executive, acquisition, staff, and technical positions in the USAF and Office of the Secretary of Defense specializing in space systems, weather, and environmental remote sensing. The first five years of his military career were spent as an enlisted weather observer. His final position in the USAF was as the Military Assistant for Environmental Monitoring, Office of Assistant Secretary of Defense, at the Pentagon, Washington, DC. He has B.S. (St. Louis University) and M.S. degrees (University of Oklahoma) in meteorology.
