Eve Gruntfest,
an AMS Member,
is Director of the Social Science Woven into Meteorology Project at The National Weather Center in Norman, Oklahoma.
She has worked in natural hazard mitigation for more than 30 years.
Dr. Gruntfest has published widely and is an internationally recognized expert in the
specialty areas of warning systems, flash flooding and integrating social science into
atmospheric science.
In 2009 she received the Kenneth E. Spengler Award from the American Meteorological Society.
She was professor of Geography and Environmental Studies at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs from 1980 until 2007.
