Todd Anderson is the Chief Meteorologist for
Dominion Energy Clearinghouse,
the energy marketing and trading arm of Dominion—Virginia Power.
His duties include developing and implementing a
weather program to meet department risk management needs. Some
responsibilities include optimizing system assets with respect to
weather risk, monitoring changes in weather forecasts for their impact
to energy commodities, evaluating and advising the company on positions of
weather derivatives and insurance. In two prior positions Mr. Anderson
was a co-partner of a weather consulting firm that provided weather
forecasts for radio stations; and a senior meteorologist with Carolina
Power and Light Company, where he forecast weather, supported nuclear
emergency preparedness, collected and analyzed meteorological data, and
conducted special studies. Mr. Anderson earned a
BS
degree in Meteorology
from North Carolina State University in Raleigh, North Carolina. He is
an officer of the Central Virginia Chapter of the American Meteorological
Society (AMS), and a Member of AMS's Committee on Applied Climatology.
