Would you like to become involved - to make a difference?

For those scientists who would like to make a contribution to public policy by working on Capitol Hill, the AMS Congressional Science Fellowship allows you to spend a year working as a legislative assistant to contribute your scientific expertise to a Member of Congress or a congressional committee.

THE PROGRAM: The AMS Congressional Science Fellowship program will permit you to spend a full year in the U.S. Congress working on these issues. Each fellow is free to choose where he or she will work within the Congress and will spend the year with over 30 fellows from other professional societies. WHO IS ELIGIBLE: Applicants must have a Ph.D. or equivalent in the atmospheric or related sciences, be a member of AMS (or applying), be a U.S. citizen, and be comfortable working with people from a diverse professional backgrounds and under demanding deadlines.
