2012 AMS Scholarships and FellowshipsAMS Graduate Fellowship in the History of Science2012 Application Deadline 10 February 2012 The AMS is pleased to invite applications for a 2012 AMS Graduate Fellowship in the History of Science, to be awarded to a student in the process of completing a dissertation on the history of the atmospheric, or related oceanic or hydrologic sciences. The Fellowship carries a $15,000 stipend and will support one year of dissertation research. Fellowships cannot be deferred and must be used for the year awarded, but can be used to support research at a location away from the student's institution, provided the plan is approved by the student's thesis advisor. It is the applicant's responsibility to ensure that all materials are received at AMS Headquarters by the closing date; applicants are encouraged to check with AMS in early March if they have not received written notification regarding the status of their application package. Candidates must be U.S. citizens or hold permanent resident status and must be pursuing a degree at a U.S. institution.
