The 84th Annual Meeting of the American Meteorological Society will be held at the Washington State Convention and Trade Center, Seattle, Washington, 11—15 January 2004. More than 2,000 of the world's leading atmospheric scientists, researchers will gather to discuss a broad range of weather and climate related issues.

NASA Administrator Kicks Off Meteorological Meeting —NASA Administrator Sean O'Keefe will kick off the American Meteorological Society (AMS) 84th Annual Meeting on Sunday 11 January 2004 at the Washington State Convention and Trade Center, Seattle, Washington.  He will discuss NASA's contributions to climate and weather research in his opening remarks.   News Release

Press Room Information

The AMS will operate a press room, Monday, 12–Thursday, 15 January. All press representatives must register either online through the AMS Web site or in the press room at the meeting.

The press room is equipped with PCs, a fax machine, and telephones. Internet access is also provided for press members bringing their own laptops. Press Credentials

Press registration includes a press badge that allows access to all conferences, special programs, and the exhibits. Eligibility for press registration is limited to the working press and freelance science writers with appropriate identification, and public information officers of scientific societies, educational institutions, and government agencies. A banquet ticket is not included and can be purchased for $45.
