Local Chapter Affairs Committee 
Marianne Hayes is currently an Art Instructor, Pueblo Del Sol Elementary and Village Meadows Elementary Schools in Sierra Vista, Arizona, where she is also a Collaborative Literacy Intervention Project (CLIP) Tutor and on the Science Committee. She is also a Resource Cataloger and member of the K-4 Team for the Digital Library of Earth Science Education (DLESE) and the Digital Water Electronic Library (DWEL) at NCAR in Boulder, Colorado. In between times, Marianne is a Resource Agent (AREA) for the AMS!
Although she holds degrees in the Fine Arts and Urban Education, Marianne has been heavily involved in the physical sciences, from taking advance course work to leading departmental science programs. This includes her work as a Science Education Consultant, Windows to the Universe, for NCAR, where she assists in the development of interdisciplinary web activities.
Marianne has presented several papers at past AMS Education Symposiums and was Co-Chair of the 7th and 8th Annual Education Symposiums. She is a member of the AMS Board on School & Popular Oceanographic Education and Chairperson of the Educational Poster Sessions, seen at the AMS Annual Meetings. Always involved in the local chapter wherever she has lived, Marianne is currently a member of the Southeastern Arizona chapter.
