Welcome to the AMS Annual Meeting NewsroomThe AMS 89th Annual Meeting starts Saturday, January 10, 2009 in Phoenix. Scientific sessions will start on Monday, January 11. Media are invited to attend the meeting, attend the sessions, interview the experts, browse the exhibit hall and take part in a variety of press briefings and special events throughout the week. Details about all press events will be posted in the coming months. Credential RequiredPress credentials are required for access to all conferences, special programs, and the exhibits. Eligibility for press registration is limited to the working press and freelance science writers with appropriate identification, and public information officers of scientific societies, educational institutions, and government agencies. A banquet ticket is not included but may be purchased for $45. Online Press RegistrationOfficial media representatives and public information officers are encouraged to register in advance using the form provided on the AMS web site. On site registration is available in the Press Room. Press Room Information The AMS will operate a Press Room in the Phoenix Convention
Center,
Monday–Thursday, 12–15 January. The Press Room is equipped with computers, telephones, and a copy
machine, and
telephones. The Press Room will not have free
wireless access, but the Phoenix
Convention Center
provides wireless access for approximately $17 per day.
