Forecast Improvement Group5 April 2013,
College Park, MD The Forecast Improvement Group is convening a one-day meeting at the new NOAA Center for Weather and Climate Prediction on 5 April 2013, directly following the AMS Washington Forum (2-4 April 2013, http://www.ametsoc.org/MEET/fainst/2013washingtonforum.html). This meeting will examine community-developed recommendations to make significant improvements in the weather forecasting capabilities of the enterprise. Specific recommendations on modeling, computing, observations, and data assimilation will be discussed. The meeting is open to all, and no registration fee will be charged. Volunteers are sought for pre-planning of recommendations. If you wish to attend, you must send a statement of interest prior to 22 March 2013 to both: Betsy.Weatherhead@Colorado.edu, grasmussen@ametsoc.org. The Forecast Improvement Group is an Ad Hoc Committee of the Board on Enterprise Communication, which is a part of the AMS Commission on the Weather and Climate Enterprise.
