ACCOMMODATIONS

Guest Room Rates
Attendees are responsible for making their own hotel arrangements. All meeting sessions for the conferences will be held at The Omni William Penn Hotel in Pittsburgh, PA

A block of rooms have been reserved at the hotel for meeting attendees at a special rate of $149 single-occupancy / $159 double-occupancy plus tax. Government per diem rates are also available to those who qualify ($115). To receive the special meeting rate, attendees must request a room under the AMS block.

Thank you in advance for booking your sleeping room at the meeting host hotel. In doing so, you’re helping AMS maintain a strong pick-up history for future hotel contract negotiations, helping to keep registration rates as low as possible.

All attendees must register to attend the conference. Registration may be completed on-line, via fax-in form, or on-site. Links will be available in the left-hand panel of this page. Registration rates will be announced and opened on Friday, 3 June.  Pre-registration (discounted) will be available until Friday, 22 July.

FULL-WEEK REGISTRATION includes: a program, offi cial badge for admission to all sessions, coff ee breaks, poster viewings, the Mon. Welcome Reception and one ticket to the Wednesday evening Clipper Cruise and Dinner event.

ONE-DAY REGISTRATION includes for (1) one calendar day only: a program, offi cial badge for admission to the day’s sessions, coff ee breaks, poster viewings, and evening events for the day with the exception of the Wed. evening Clipper Cruise & Dinner event. Tickets to the Wed. evening cruise and dinner may be purchased in advance on-line. A limited number of tickets will be available for purchase on-site.

REGISTRATION WILL NOT BE PROCESSED WITHOUT PAYMENT. Payment may be made with check, money order, purchase order, or credit card (MasterCard/VISA/American Express). Checks must be drawn on a U.S. bank and payable in U.S. dollars. Refunds (less a $25 processing fee) will be granted only for cancellations received by Friday, 9 September.

SHORT COURSE
Millimeter –Wavelength Radars: Sunday, 25 September
This short course is full. Please contact Jen Ives at jives@ametsoc.org to be put on a waiting list.
A one-day short course will precede the 35th Conference on Radar Meteorology. Registration is separate /optional, and seats will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Please see the course announcement for more details.

POSTER ROTATIONS
Formal Poster Viewings will be held in two rotations during the week. Please check back for more information on set-up and tear-down hours to be posted here.

Please note that, due to room size limitations, poster boards will be 4'x6' instead of the standard 4'x8'.

CONFERENCE BANQUET
Gateway Clipper Cruise: Wednesday, 28 September
A ticket to the 35th Conference on Radar Meteorology Banquet is included in your registration package. The Clipper’s Captain will spend a portion of the cruise narrating and pointing out major Pittsburgh sites along the 3 rivers as we enjoy dinner. (Cash bar also available.)

Guest tickets ($65) may be purchased on-line with your registration package. A limited number of guest tickets will be available for sale on-site until noon Monday, 26 September. Any special dietary requests should be indicated when registering on-line or communicated to Jen Ives via e-mail: jives@ametsoc.org by Monday, 12 September.

Buses will depart the Omni between 4:30-5:30pm to bring guests to the lively Station Square Area prior to the Clipper’s departure at 5:30pm. The cruise will conclude at 8:00pm and buses will return guests to the Omni from 8:00-9:00pm.

DESSERT RECEPTION WITH EXHIBITS OPENING
A Welcome Dessert Reception with Exhibits Opening will be held in the Grand Ballroom alongside the posters on Monday from 1:30-3:30pm.

INTERNET ACCESSIBILITY
Complimentary internet stations will be available near meeting space. For those with laptops, Omni Select Guest Program Gold Members (no cost to sign up) will receive complimentary internet access in the lobby and sleeping room areas. Non-members can receive internet access for $9.95/day + tax.

GETTING THERE

Flying to Pittsburgh
The Pittsburgh International Airport is approx. 17 miles and a 30-minute drive from the Omni William Penn Hotel.

Ground Transportation
Shuttle service is available upon arrival at the Pittsburgh International Airport for approx. $20 one-way per person or $35 round-trip per person. Taxi service would run approx. $40. The Omni William Penn Hotel is within walking distance to many restaurants and areas of interest. The Pittsburgh Metro System is also located adjacent to the hotel, linking you to all points downtown.

Self-parking is offered in the Mellon Square parking garage across from the hotel (approx. $14/day Mon.-Fri., approx. $5/day Sat. and Sun.). Valet parking is available to Omni guests for $27 per 24-hours with in/out privileges.
