ORGANIZERS

The 29th Conference on Hurricanes and Tropical Meteorology, sponsored by the American Meteorological Society and organized by the AMS Committee on Tropical Meteorology will be held 10–14 May 2010, Tucson, Arizona.

ACCOMMODATIONS

All meeting sessions for the conferences will be held at The JW Marriott Starr Pass Resort and Spa Tucson, 3800 W.Starr Pass Blvd. Tucson, AZ 85745. A block of rooms has been reserved at the hotel for meeting attendees at a special rate of: $169 single/Double. The current government rate of $124.00 single/double and is available for government employees with proper ID. Room rates are quoted exclusive of state and local taxes. These special rates will also be honored three days before and after based on availability.

Reservations must be made prior to Monday, 19 April 2010, and may be required to provide a credit card for guestroom guarantee. All credit cards used to guarantee
will be charged one nights stay if reservation is canceled within 72 hours of arrival or is a no show.

REGISTRATION FORMS WILL ONLY BE ACCEPTED BY MAIL OR FAX THROUGH 17 APRIL. AFTER THIS DATE YOU MUST REGISTER ON-LINE OR ON- SITE.

There are 2 formal poster viewings Tuesday and Thursday 3:30–5:00 P.M.
Poster Session 1 (Tuesday):
Set-up: Monday starting at 10:00 a.m.
Tear Down: Wednesday by 10:00 a.m.

Poster Session 2 (Thursday):
Set-up: Wednesday starting at 3:00 p.m.
Tear Down: Friday by 9:00 a.m.


GETTING THERE

Shuttle Transportation:
Discounted transportation has been arranged with Arizona Stage coach. AMS negotiated rates to and from the Tucson Airport are $25 one way and $48 Round trip. You may make reservations online at www.azstagecoach.com Be sure to enter the group Id AMS10 on the very first page in order to receive the discounted rate. Please keep in mind the code is case sensitive.

Car Rental
Enterprise is the official rental car agency for this meeting and special rates are available. Advance reservations may be made on-line at Enterprise.com. Self Parking: $10 per day
Valet Parking: $15 per day


Evening Shuttle
Free shuttle transportation will be provided Tuesday and Tuesday to off site restaurant locations between 6:00-9:00 p.m. Tuesday shuttles will run to the Downtown area and Thursday to the University area.
