2008 Public-Private Partnership Forum

PURPOSE
University of CaliforniaTo provide an opportunity for weather and climate enterprise stakeholders to meet with senior Federal agency officials and Congressional staff to hear about the status of current programs, learn about new initiatives; discuss issues of interest to the enterprise, and identity business opportunities.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND
All AMS Members are encouraged to attend, particularly AMS Corporate Members, private sector executives, federal agency and laboratory managers and scientists, and university faculty.

Public-Private Partnership Forum Banquet
The PPP Forum Banquet will be held on Tuesday, 22 April at the Washington DC Doubletree Hotel: 1515 Rhode Island Avenue NW (~3 blocks from the University of California Washington Center). A cash bar reception will begin at 5:00pm and a buffet dinner will be served at 6:00pm. Tickets to the dinner ($20) are sold separately in advance with registration. A limited number of dinner tickets will also be available on-site until 12:00pm on 22 April. The Guest Speaker will be introduced by AMS President, Walter F. Dabberdt.

DIRECTIONS
The University of California Washington Center is located on Rhode Island Avenue between 16th and 17th Streets.

Metro: The Center can be reached via Metro on the Red or Orange/Blue lines. It is approximately three blocks north up 17th Street (about a ten-minute walk) from the Farragut North Metro station on the Red line or Farragut West on the Orange/Blue line. It is approximately 3 blocks southeast down Massachusetts Avenue (about a fifteen minute walk) from the Dupont Circle Metro station on the Red line

Driving: For driving directions to the Center at 1608 Rhode Island Avenue, NW MapQuest Directions

Parking: There is street and garage parking nearby. An outdoor pay surface parking lot is available next door and there are covered garages in the surrounding blocks on M street and 17th Street. Nearby hotels such as the Courtyard Washington Embassy Row, DoubleTree and The Jefferson provide valet parking to their guests.
