BAMS: Letter from the Editor
(posted June 2003)

BAMS
Submit a Proposal

The AMS launched the new BAMS in 2002 to further the goals set forth in the Society's Ten-Year Vision. This major restructuring has involved new editors, new review and editing procedures, an extensive redesign, and the addition of new regular features aimed at members and, ultimately, the educated public. The format of BAMSis meant to be reader-friendly and very flexible to allow authors and editors to tailor articles to their message.

AMS members have wide-ranging interests and professions, all united by a common interest in advancing atmospheric and related sciences. We hope you find the new format of BAMS brings you closer to what others in your field are doing and thinking.

Authors: Please note that the new author instructions represent a significant change in editorial policies, even as we continue to uphold peer-review standards and continue to accept articles on the same topics as before. What you say and how you say it are equally important to us. Read the instructions carefully and contact the Editor-in-Chief (editorinchief@ametsoc.org) if you have questions.
